BMW has revealed the two-door BMW i8 Concept as a sports car for a new generation. Offering enough interior space for 4 people, BMW i8 will become a modern and sustainable sports car which powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. 
BMW i8 Concept combines a combustion engine with the electric drive system which taken from the i3 model. A high-performance 3-cylinder combustion engine will powering the rear axle resulting outputs 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. While the front axle is powered as we mentioned above, an electric motor which develops 170 hp and 250 Nm. With a raw calculation, BMW i8 concept will have a total output of 390 hp and 550 Nm of torque.
As have been said by the company, the new BMW i8 concept offers a fuel economy of less than 3 liters per 100 km (94 mpg) and is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 5 seconds. While for its lithium-ion battery will offers a range of up to 20 miles (when using its electric power alone).
