Mercedes SLR

Mercedes SLR
Mercedes SLR – Once again the leading luxury tuning company draws on plentiful resources and refines a super sports car on costumer´s option in an impressive manner. Already known for spectacular modifications on all AMG Mercedes models, Wheelsandmore didn´t even stop at the extremely rare MC Laren collaboration model. Although both manufacturers are going their separate ways since then, the SLR is already an absolutely classic, though technically antiquated. For this and also optical reasons the Wheelsandmore “Edition 7o7” requires further approach.
Even before the start button is pressed, the pilot is appreciated by knowing the impressive power of (460kw) 626 hp and 780 Nm of torque that the upcoming trip will go with damp palms only in progressive direction. Once the dust has settled, Wheelsandmore arrives at the conclusion that the nervous suspension setup needs a thorough overhaul.
With German suspension professionals KW Automotive, a compression and rebound adjustable, full race approved coilover with damper housings of strength aluminum alloy was developed and installed. Due to the characteristics matched to the car and the lowering of vehicle’s center of gravity, the projectile can be controlled much more precise.
Using a new suspension kit seems to be essential because of the enormous increase in output. Wheelsandmore took their SLR portfolio performance pack and installed beneath a larger compressor pulley an ecu upgrade. Result is a breathtaking power of 707 hp and 915 Nm of torque, a performance whose data are also reflected in the project name. The acceleration sprint from 0-100 km/h is done now within 3.5 seconds.
Significant and additional effect on the improved acceleration and power delivery are having the handcrafted, multi-piece forged wheels of the type 6Sporz² due to their weight-optimized properties.
Those high-end rims are filling out the carbon fiber bodywork perfectly sizing 9.0 x20″ at the front and sizing 11.5 x 20 inches at the rear axle. Highest quality standards are also elected with the 255/30/20 and 305/25/20 Sportmaxx tires from Dunlop. The customization options for all Wheelsandmore wheels are nearly unlimited, what is demonstrated with the carbon-look outside rims and the red outlines once more.

Audi R8 TDI Le Mans Concept

The V12 TDI is closely related to the engine in the Audi R10, the two-time Le Mans winner - so it catapults the Audi R8 into supercar terrain concerning performance too. It sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 4.2 seconds and its top speed is well over 300 km/h (186.41 mph). The peak torque, reached at only 1,750 rpm, paves the way for effortless acceleration that is unrivaled even at this level.

The new V12 TDI belongs to Audi's family of V engines but has the ideal included angle for this engine type of 60 degrees between cylinder banks. Its highlights include the new chain drive layout that includes the two newly developed high-pressure pumps for the common rail injection system.
Its sound is as thrilling as you'd expect in a sports car of this caliber. For all the subtle smoothness that typifies this design principle, the twelve-cylinder unit is full-bodied and equipped with energetic overtones that make no secret of its performance potential.

Thanks to their high performance and pulling power, all Audi TDI engines are ultra-dynamic sources of power. The brand has often enough demonstrated its sporty character in its production cars, especially the six- and eight-cylinder 3.0 TDI and 4.2 TDI. Audi has also been writing a new chapter in its success story on the racetrack since 2006. The diesel engine in the R10 sports prototype won its very first endurance race at Sebring, Florida, when it was pitted against an entire field of gasoline-engined challengers. But its most crucial victories were surely in 2006 and 2007 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, when it simply outclassed the
international elite.

The V12 TDI race engine in the R10 produces over 650 hp from a displacement of 5.5 liters, giving it the potential for a top speed as high as 330 km/h (205.05 mph) depending on the gear ratios. Its power and sturdiness immediately impressed both fans and experts, who were impressed by its restrained noise level. Unusual for a race engine, this powerful Audi diesel makes barely more than a whisper.

Long traditions of motor racing and production technology complement each other at Audi. The FSI engine of the R10's predecessor, the R8, captured five wins at Le Mans with a direct gasoline injection system. Audi is also looking to maximize the advantage by using the race-tested FSI principle in its production models. The latest examples of this are the V8 with high-revving concept in the RS 4 and the production version of the Audi R8.

Kia reveals RWD sport sedan concept for Frankfurt

Kia reveals RWD sport sedan concept for Frankfurt
Recently, Kia officials let it slip that the Korean automaker would be debuting some sort of “coupe-like” rear-wheel-drive concept at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, and just a few days later, we now have our first glimpse at that very car. The unnamed concept stands true to everything we were told earlier: it has rear-wheel drive, is a swoopy four-door “coupe,” and looks like it will slot in between the Hyundai Genesis and Equus in terms of size.

“I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: We are ready to fast forward to an all-new chapter,” says the automaker’s design chief, Peter Schreyer.
Could this be a conceptual version of Kia’s upcoming K9 flagship sedan? Sounds right to us, and with such a bold styling direction, it’s clear that the Koreans are looking to take on the swoopy sedan segment that contains players like the Audi A7 and Mercedes-Benz CLS.

Yet a roomy and versatile interior offers the convenience and cargo volume of a relatively larger vehicle. Compared to any other vehicle in the subcompact class, the five-passenger Fit provides the lowest, flattest cargo floor and the most cargo volume of 57.3 cu-ft. when the rear seats are down. Its four distinct seat configurations are designed to accommodate large objects ranging from mountain bikes to surfboards to tall houseplants.
Fit Sport exterior updates for 2012 include new designs for the front grille and bumper, black headlight bezels and a dark “machined surface” finish for the alloy wheels (replaces a painted finish appearance). Cadillac 2011

Cadillac
Cadillac – The innovative Cadillac Converj Concept, a dramatic luxury coupe with extended-range electric vehicle technology, is moving forward as a production car that will be called the Cadillac ELR.
Development of the ELR is just underway, so details on performance, price and timing will be announced later.
The Cadillac ELR will feature an electric propulsion system made up of a T-shaped lithium ion battery, an electric drive unit, and a four-cylinder engine-generator. It uses electricity as its primary source to drive the car without using gasoline or producing tailpipe emissions. When the battery’s energy is low, the ELR seamlessly switches to extended-range mode to enable driving for hundreds of additional miles.
“The concept generated instant enthusiasm,” said Don Butler, vice president-Cadillac Marketing. “Like other milestone Cadillac models of the past, the ELR will offer something not otherwise present – the combination of electric propulsion with striking design and the fun of luxury coupe driving.”
Cadillac selected the name ELR to indicate the car’s electric propulsion technology, in keeping with the brand’s 3-letter international model naming convention.
The Converj Concept sparked the idea of combining the desirability of a grand touring coupe with electrification, said Ed Welburn, GM vice president, Global Design.
“There’s no mistaking it for anything but a Cadillac, an aggressive, forward-leaning profile and proportion showcases a uniquely shaped, modern vision of a personal luxury 2+2,” Welburn said.
Cadillac will reveal another new concept car on Thursday, Aug. 18, at a special event prior to the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Cadillac also recently announced it will add two new vehicles to its product lineup in 2012, the XTS large luxury sedan and an all-new luxury compact sedan codenamed ATS.
